I was very pleased recently to be asked to present at Lanway Corporate Business Systems in Burnley. They were running a series of Special Interest Groups aimed at current and prospective customers, but nicely focusing not on selling but more on sharing information and putting real Use Cases behind the products.

This was their first, of what will hopefully become a monthly event, hosted at their offices in Lancashire.  I was asked to go along and present my open and honest experiences of Nimble Storage to a mixed group of virtualized and non-virtualized attendees. The feedback I received after the event was very encouraging, the issues and dilemmas I discuss are common in companies of all sizes, no matter how large or small.  During my 45 minute (or their abouts) presentation, I cover the Nimble Journey, stopping on the way at :-

  • Why not buy the same SAN Manufacturer again?
  • What, you mean I need to buy two devices for Live Data and Archiving!
  • Oops, my production SAN just went off line….
  • Viewing LUNs by Application or Service NOT by Size or Tier Level
  • My Favourite Nimble Features, and why they stand out
